NEW Cover Reveals - "The Prophecy of Tyalbrook" Series by Michele G. Miller

Their journey began with a promise…

"I won’t let you fall. You will not die for me. I can’t live with that, Xander, and I would rather let them take me before I let them kill you.” He opened his mouth to argue, but I held up my hand. “Don’t argue it. There’s no point. I’ve made up my mind.”

He shook his head, but didn’t argue. Instead, he promised as he always did, “If anything happens to you… if we get separated, if you martyr yourself… anything, Skye. As long as I am breathing, I will always find you. Always.”

Those were precisely the words I’d counted on him saying.

AN ORPHAN with no memory of her past and no hope for her future.
A GUARDIAN determined to keep her safe.
A DESTINY neither of them expected.

Two souls desperate to discover the truth about the past and determined to save their future…

SKYE
The usual warmth I felt deep in my soul when Xander was near me was beginning to dull. Yet I still remembered the warning: “Be careful, my Princess…you will lose all you love before you can win what you want.”

XANDER
I could feel it; she hadn’t been here. Two days of hell, riding as fast as we could and only taking small breaks, and yet she had outrun us. How?

A PRINCESS set on regaining her Kingdom and protecting those she loves…
A GUARDIAN who will stop at nothing to find the woman who stole his heart…
An EVIL FORCE who will destroy everything they know in order to have power over all…

The journey continues in Never Let You Go, book two in The Prophecy of Tyalbrook Series.

Book Review - "Into The Fire" by Michele G. Miller

Book Overview

At fifteen, an accident turned my world upside down. Scarred in every way possible, I shut down, finding comfort by self-inflicting pain.

I’ve grown accustomed to the truths of my life, but I’m tired.
Tired of this reality...
Tired of the need...
Of the pain...
I’m weary of being this person...
Of being alone...
Though, I’m more afraid of letting someone in.

It’s been five years.
Can I return home and face my fears? Overcome the pain?
It’s time to find out.

For too long, the story of my life has been one of horror.
I want my fairy tale.
I want my prince, my happily ever after.

The question is, does it want me?

'Wrecked' is a series of stand-alone novels following characters introduced in the 'From The Wreckage' series.

Dani's story - Into The Fire is a YA/NA Crossover Drama/Romance and can be read without reading 'From The Wreckage'

My Take

*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

I can't remember the last time I cried so much reading a book. Dani's story is the sad, heartbreaking tale of a young girl who experiences a great tragedy at 15. Her journey plays out as the reader is taken back in time before the tragedy occurs and we are slowly supplied the pieces of the tale that cause Dani to become a shell of the person she used to be. Along the way, we see her deal with family, friends, and life as she slowly rediscovers who she is.

This book is so emotionally charged, each chapter gripped ahold of me and I felt the weight of Dani's pain. This book contains mature themes (non-sexual) that explore the dark nature of depression. Fear not, however, as her story does reach a happy ending.

Michele G. Miller is a true artist of her craft in every sense of the word. She is able to write in a manner that is engaging, heartfelt, and touches the human soul. This story really pulled me in and I was hanging on to every page: cheering along with Dani during her moments of happiness and crying with her in her moments of anguish. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a story relating to human emotion and the path to healing after a loss.

I give this book:

Into the Fire by Michele G. Miller
Chapter 1

Today’s reality… Doing something new

January 3, 2018

“Good morning, Danica. How are you today?” asks Dr. Green as he walks into his office, late as usual.

His glasses sit askew atop his head, his salt and pepper hair sticking out in all directions. This is the man who has been counseling me to get on with my life. The man who scarcely arrives to our appointments on time. But I like him. He’s easy to talk with: jovial, caring, and not nearly as pushy as other therapists I’ve seen through the years.

He seats himself in the chair across from me and I close my eyes, breathing in deeply. “I opened my email this weekend.”

“Oh? Is that unusual for you?” he asks.

“My old email. The account from… before.”

Dr. Green remains quiet, waiting for more. When it becomes clear I’m not offering up an explanation he does as he always does - he pokes at the hornets’ nest. “What prompted you to do that?”

Tears jab the back of my eyelids, even as a small smile dances upon my lips. “I had a birthday Sunday,” I remind him, knowing full well he’s aware my birthday was New Year's Eve. “I turned twenty-one, and do you know what I did?”

He raises a brow in question, perching his glasses on the tip of his nose, and going to work jotting notes on the pad laying in his lap.

“Nothing. I did nothing. I sat in a dark room and watched the teenagers across the street set off fireworks.” I sound so lame, I think to myself, shaking my head. “It’s pathetic honestly. I know it and you know it and that’s why I opened the email. I guess I wanted to know if anyone was thinking of me.”

“You guess?” he asks, and I shrug indifferently. “And, what did you find?”

What did I find? I found years of accumulated junk mail and well wishes from people I’ve long left behind. I didn’t stop to look at the messages, not all of them anyway. Instead, I clicked the senders into alphabetical order and searched for relevant names. More specifically, I searched for one name.

He’d sent three messages and as I’d read the words on the glowing screen before me, while fireworks popped outside my window, the truth of my life crashed down on me.

I’m weary of being this person, of living life alone, of being afraid to live.

I’m more afraid of letting someone in. Again. It’s been five years.

Can I face the fear? Overcome the pain?

It’s time to find out. Because if I don’t… I’m not sure I’ll survive.

Review - "From the Wreckage" by Michele G. Miller

I recently finished Michele G. Miller's "From the Wreckage" and let me tell you, it is such an awesome book. The best part about this book (among so many other wonderful things) is the emotional connection the reader feels with the characters. I think anyone who has experienced loss and tried to  move on with life after their loss will connect with this book.

Book Overview

"In a matter of minutes on a Friday night, I lost my school, my identity, the security of my first love, the personality of my sweet fearless brother, my best friend, my town, everything as I knew it. Everything changed."

"Minutes - that's all it takes to change your entire life. How do you deal with that?"

For high school senior Jules Blacklin surviving the storm is only the beginning. Faced with the new reality of her life, she must find a way to rise From The Wreckage and answer the question - how do you get back to normal, when everything that was normal is gone?

My Take

I cried okay, I cried. Not just once, but several times.

"From the Wreckage" introduces us to Jules, who with her best friends Katie and Tonya, are having a regular night out in their Texas town. Most of the kids from their high-school are hanging out at the popular Ice Shack when out of nowhere, a tornado sweeps through the town causing Jules and her friends to scramble for cover and pray for their safety.

Unfortunately, the town suffers a significant loss. Jules and her friends struggle to understand how their lives were turned upside down in the matter of minutes. For Jules, she copes with trying to understand new feelings that surface for her long-forgotten friend West, who helped protect her during the storm. Of course, we have to insert a complication, hence Jules struggle with her feelings for West when her own boyfriend Stuart is trying to provide her with comfort while dealing with his own family issues. Will Jules be able to relax in Stuart's embrace while every fiber of her being is aching to be held by West who makes her feel safe and secure? How will she and her friends survive after being pulled "From the Wreckage"?

Michele G. Miller has created such a world that sucked me straight in. The story is written as a "remembering" of events as Jules is filming her story for a film project (and I believe as a therapeutic mechanism). The switching between present day recording of the story and the events leading up to the filming are seamless and really provide an extra glimpse into feelings Jules is having. I think this is what helps make the story so engaging. Michele breaks down the "fourth wall" and connects with the readers. I couldn't help but feel like I was behind the camera and Jules was telling her story to me. I would LOVE to see this made into a movie, it would be awesome!

I give this book:

Superb writing, a realistic plot, sympathetic characters, and story of love and hope relay an enjoyable read that I couldn't put down. I've already purchased the next book and can't wait to get started reading it!

Me and the People I Love!

Welcome everyone and thanks for visiting my blog!

A little about me: I'm a fan of YA and NA Paranormal and Non-paranormal romance (I blame my sister Kelly for getting me hooked and my best book friend Melissa for keeping the fire stirred!). I also love a good mystery and the occasional adult contemporary.

This year, I attended UtopYA for the first time so I could meet my absolute favorite author Nancy Straight. While I was there, I made so many new friends (my book wife Tammie!) and found new favorite author's (Stacey Marie Brown, S.M. Boyce, Michele G. Miller) that I wanted to find a way to share my love of all these people!

I also met some really awesome cover models like Tessi Le'Anne, Nathan D. Weller, and Kendra Malcom. They are all super nice and by befriending them, I've been able to find other great people like Grant Mroz and Kelsey Keeton.

PS - Everyone listed in the posts above are awesome, so you should definitely check them out and show them some love by liking their pages and/or buying their books!!

So . . . I decided to start my blog and the rest is turning into history!

Now I know everyone loves a good giveaway . . . my first one ended yesterday and I plan to do another one very soon!

But . . . what are some things that you like to see on a blog. How do you prefer I share my favorite authors, models, books, etc. I'd love to hear your thoughts, so comment below. Again, thank you for all your support! I'm so blessed to have so many friends!!
